No. While we draw many of our volunteers from the charitable organizations that benefit from the proceeds of the Gran Fondo NJ, anyone is welcome to help make this a fun and safe event for all of the participants!

Absolutely before and during ride day there will be multiple opportunities. If you plan to volunteer for more than one job, we encourage you to sign up for them at one time to avoid having to re-enter your volunteer information.

Immediately after registering, you will receive a confirmation email showing the job(s) you signed up to do and instructions on how to contact us. If you do not receive the email, please check your spam folder.

Yes, we must have your original, signed Volunteer Liability Form in order for you to volunteer. The Form is located under the Volunteer Tab and is a downloadable PDF. Please sign the form and mail it to GranFondoNJ, P.O. Box 363, Belmar, NJ 07719 if it is at least one week before your volunteer job. If not, please bring the Form with you and give it to your Volunteer Coordinator.

Every volunteer will receive a Gran Fondo NJ volunteer t-shirt, a commemorative pint glass and the great satisfaction of helping all of our participants and the charitable organizations who are the beneficiaries of this great event..

Except for our hill climb timers and start/finish line volunteers, probably nothing formal, but our team leaders will clearly describe the job and offer lots of encouragement. And please ask if you need more info. Timers and start/finish line volunteers will receive specific training in advance of the event.

Your Volunteer Coordinator will contact you to discuss your specific duties, times and locations. If you have not been contacted by your Volunteer Coordinator within ten days of signing up to volunteer, please email the Volunteer Coordinator at volunteers@granfondonj.com.
